NYU is holding an Open House where they will make a public presentation of their 2031 Plan. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 14th from 5:30 to 8 pm at the NYU Kimmel Center, Washington Square South and LaGuardia Place.

NYU's expansion plans to add 6 million square feet of space to their educational buildings, including dorms. They plan to add half of that amount, 3 million square feet, in the West and East Village and immediate surrounding area over the next 20 years. This is roughly double their rate of growth over the last several decades. It is the equivalent of seventeen more of their recently completed 26-story dorms on East 12^th

Street (now the tallest building in the East Village), or four and a half of the Jacob Javits Convention Center, according to the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation.

Come to the Open House to find out more about NYU’s plans for our community and for their satellite campuses. Since many of NYU’s plans will require public approvals by City agencies, there will be opportunities for community input.
